Arthur Cheng

Washington Programs Manager

Arthur Cheng (he/him) identifies as a 1.5 generation immigrant to the US. He was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and moved with his family to the NYC metro area at the age of 5 years old. When he was 10 years old, his family then moved to the Seattle area. Arthur considers himself a Seattle local, having spent most of his life in the area. Throughout the years, he has always found joy in outdoor spaces and activities ranging from childhood hikes at Yangmingshan National Park in Taiwan to finding the best bike routes and snack stops with friends in Seattle. Arthur discovered Outdoor Asian in January of 2024 after participating in the Redlining Heritage Trail Tour in partnership with the Wing Luke Museum. Learning about the rich but also troubled history of the Asian community in the Seattle area had a profound impact and energized him to seek out more opportunities to serve the community. Through the lens of outdoors spaces, Arthur hopes to build community, create opportunities for joy, hope, excitement, and foster safe spaces for vulnerability & learning!
