Chris Young

Chris Young is a 2nd generation Filipino and Thai-Chinese American born and raised in Washington state. He grew up in Olympia, Washington and spent lots of time birding in his backyard or at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. He spent all of high school in Houston, where he was lucky to find a strong community of Asian Americans and people of color to help him navigate through many of life's challenges. Eventually, he made his way back to Western Washington University and fell in love with nature all over again, finishing with a degree in Environmental Science. He now works within the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe's IT department. At Outdoor Asian, Chris works together with an awesome group of volunteers to provide opportunities to recreate, learn, and celebrate our stories.
